What to Expect at Greenlight Chiropractic & Wellness Lab

When you call to schedule, the front desk will collect basic information. When possible, our front desk will verify your insurance before you arrive at the office. Most of the time, we can call you to let you know your copay and how many visits you have before your first appointment. This way, you’ll arrive already clear on all that information.

When you come into the office, you will complete paperwork. The paperwork gives the doctor a starting point before the consultation and exam.

Your First Visit: Day 1

Initial Consultation: Your first visit includes a consultation about your pain and health history. The doctor will ask when the pain started, what your daily life looks like, and how work or home activities may be affecting your body.
The goal is to understand what is happening and how your lifestyle may connect to your symptoms. This helps guide the treatment plan.

Exam and X-Rays, When Needed: After the consultation, the doctor will perform an exam. X-rays are not taken for every patient. They are used when medically necessary.
The exam may include posture review, orthopedic testing, range of motion checks, and other findings based on your symptoms. If X-rays are needed, the doctor will review them with you at the follow-up visit.

Conservative First Treatment: Your first treatment is based on your pain level that day. The adjustment is usually conservative during the first visit.
Depending on what is appropriate for your case, care may include intersegmental traction, light massage therapy, cold laser for inflammation, flexion distraction, drop table work, Activator, ArthroStim, electric muscle stimulation, trigger point work, or hands-on adjustments.

Your Second Visit

Your second visit usually happens the next day or soon after the first appointment. At this visit, the doctor will ask how you felt after the first treatment.

The doctor may review your exam findings, posture scan, or X-rays if they were taken. They will explain what they think is going on and how chiropractic care applies to your case.

Your Treatment Plan

After reviewing your findings, the doctor will outline your treatment plan. The plan is based on your condition, how long you have had symptoms, your activity level, your work demands, and how your body responded to the first treatment.

Care may be adjusted over time. The doctor may change how many areas are adjusted or the type of adjustment used based on your pain level and response to care.

Phases of Care

Your care plan may be broken into phases. The first phase focuses on your current symptoms. The next phase focuses on correcting how the spine is functioning and helping it hold adjustments better. Maintenance care may be discussed after that to help keep the body working well.

In some cases, care may begin three times per week, then reduce to twice per week, then once per week as the patient improves. This depends on the case and the doctor’s findings.

Home Care and Daily Habits

Your treatment plan may also include things to do at home. This can include stretches, exercises, posture changes, workstation changes, or changes in how you sit, lift, or move during the day.

The doctor may also talk through habits that affect the spine, such as work posture, sitting for long periods, furniture support, sleep position, and daily activity. The plan depends on what is happening in your body and what you do each day.
