Massage therapy
Available at Lake Forest, San Diego, and Spring Valley
Therapeutic massage uses hands-on pressure to ease tight, sore muscles and help you move more comfortably. At Greenlight it is offered alongside chiropractic care, so the muscles and the joints they support are treated together.

Massage alongside your chiropractic care
Stress, muscle tension and ongoing pain can wear you down. When muscles stay tight, they pull on the joints they attach to, and joints that do not move well can keep muscles guarded and tense. Treating both often helps more than treating either one alone.
Therapeutic massage at our offices focuses on the areas that are bothering you, such as the neck, shoulders, back and hips, and on the muscles involved in an injury or in the way you sit, stand or train.
What is therapeutic massage?
Massage therapy uses hands-on techniques, and sometimes simple tools, to apply pressure to muscles and the connective tissue around them. It can ease tension and soreness, improve how freely you move and help you relax.
At Greenlight, massage is planned with your chiropractic care in mind. Your chiropractor and your massage therapist work toward the same goal: helping you move and feel better.
What massage may help with
- Muscle tension and tightness
- Muscle soreness after activity or a strain
- Neck and shoulder tension from desk work
- Ongoing back pain alongside chiropractic care
- Recovery from whiplash and other muscle injuries
- Stress and feeling unable to relax
Combined with regular chiropractic care, massage is one of the conservative options that may help you manage pain.
Is massage right for me?
Your Greenlight team will review your symptoms and history and let you know whether massage, chiropractic adjustments or both make sense for you. Before your session you will be asked about sore areas, the pressure you prefer, and any injuries or conditions to be careful of.
What to expect during your session
You relax on a padded massage table. Your therapist uses their hands to work on tense or painful areas, adjusting pressure to what feels right for you. You can ask for lighter or firmer pressure at any time.
Afterward, you may feel loose and relaxed, and some people feel mild soreness the next day, similar to after a workout. Drinking water and moving gently can help.
How often should I come in?
Everyone is different. Depending on your needs and goals, your team may suggest a massage once or twice a week while an injury is settling, or every few weeks to keep tension in check. You can also book a session whenever you notice tension or soreness building.

About massage therapy at Greenlight.
Is massage offered at every office?
Yes. Therapeutic massage is available at our Lake Forest, San Diego, and Spring Valley offices.
Do I need to see the chiropractor first?
Your team will help you decide. Many people start with a chiropractic visit so massage can be planned around their exam findings.
Will massage hurt?
It should not be painful. Working on a tight area can feel intense, and your therapist will adjust the pressure to keep you comfortable.
What should I wear?
Wear comfortable clothing. Your therapist will explain how to get ready for your session and will keep you covered throughout.
How do I book massage therapy?
Call your Greenlight office to schedule a massage on its own or alongside a chiropractic visit.
