Dr. Ron Merriel, DC

Dr. Merriel treats patients like family. He is straightforward, takes a relaxed approach and explains what he finds so you can make your own decisions without feeling pressured.

Care goes beyond the adjustment. He talks with patients about diet, gives exercises to do at home and looks at daily habits that may be adding to their pain. In his view, it is easier to maintain your health than to regain it.

His adjustments are gentle, and he avoids forceful techniques when they are not needed. If you are nervous about adjustments or dislike the sound of pops, he can use instrument-based options instead.

As a sixth grader, he spent a summer shadowing a veterinarian, but severe animal allergies ruled out that path. He enrolled in nursing at Bloomfield College in North Jersey and, by his third year, realized hospital work was not the right fit.

That summer he started reading about chiropractic at the library. The idea of supporting the body’s own ability to heal resonated with him, and he had always wanted to work with his hands. After classes in his college’s pre-chiropractic program, he applied to New York Chiropractic College, the only school he applied to.

Today he enjoys helping patients get back to activities they could not do before, and meeting people from all walks of life.
